Donald A., age 89, of Fairfield passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. He was born on April 10, 1928 in Hamilton, the son of the late George and Hilda (Schmitt) Hester. Don is survived by his son, George Hester, his daughter, Nancy Houk; step-daughters, Beverly (Pete) Kinsey and Georgia (John) Madden; brother, Raymond (Shirley) Hester; and his many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; daughter, Rosemary Moya; and beloved sister, Gerry Hester.

Don was employed by General Motors at the Fisher Body plant for 40 years.

The family would like to thank his dear friends for their years of love and support; also to the staff at Hospice of Hamilton for their compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions are made to Hospice of Hamilton, Native Hope, Chamberlain SD or St. Joseph's Indian School, Chamberlain SD.

Visitation will be Monday, May 15th, 2017 from Noon to 2pm, at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd, Fairfield, 45014, followed by prayers at the funeral home.
