Herbert Franz Demel

Herbert Franz Demel, 82, of West Chester, passed away Sept. 10, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born Nov. 7, 1934, in Hermesdorf, Czechoslovakia, to the late Franz and Anna Demel (nee Bittner). He married his loving wife, Arlette Demel (nee Waiss), in Heidelberg, Germany, in 1964.  Herbert worked for more than 25 years as an aerospace engineer at General Electric. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Karin (Helge) Simon-Demel and Kurt (Fiona) Demel; grandchildren Sylvia, Ian and Bianca; and a brother, Klaus (Jutta) Demel. He is preceded in death by his sister, Lotte Furrer. A memorial mass will be held Sept. 30, 2017, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 5720 Hamilton Mason Road, Liberty Township, Ohio, 45011. Visitation will begin at 10 AM  with memorial Mass to follow. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Maximilian Kolbe or Hospice of Cincinnati.
