GILREATH, Jerome Barnett D.D.S.
On Monday, February 12, 2018, Jerry Gilreath passed away after an extended illness at the age of 77 years. Jerry was born November 18, 1940 in Fort Bragg, NC, to Robert and Marie (Hench) Gilreath. He received his undergraduate degree from John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio and his Doctorate of Dentistry from The Ohio State University in 1967.
Jerry had a 50 year long career in dentistry before retiring early last year at the age of 76. He very much enjoyed being able to help those in need, especially those in pain. Jerry led an active lifestyle and never knew a stranger.
He had a deep passion for music and live theater. In college you would find Jerry on stage, either acting or performing with his band, The Hangmen. In later years he enjoyed building rocket and boat models as well as collecting coins, stamps and classic vinyl.
Jerry will be forever remembered by his two sons, Adam and Jason Gilreath, his grandson, Alec Gilreath and close family friends, Ann and Bob Weekley. Jerry will also be missed by numerous patients, extended family and dear friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 10:30 a.m. at Fairfield First Baptist Church, 1072 Hicks Blvd, Fairfield, 45014 with Pastor Timothy White officiating.
