Linda May (Sharp) , age 69, died of cancer in her Middletown home Sunday evening, July 23, 2017. Linda was born in Hamilton, Ohio on November 7, 1947, the daughter of William Howard Sharp and Nora (Howell) Sharp. She grew up in Overpeck, Ohio and attended New Miami Local Schools. She attended Hickory Flats Church of Christ and was baptized at the age of thirteen.

On June 10, 1962 Linda married James Miller, also of Overpeck. To this union two daughters were born. 

She had many different jobs, including tax preparation at H&R Block. After that she started her own business as a tax preparer.

On February 8, 1992 she married Bobby Eugene McCoy, Jr., of Hamilton. Linda’s sense of adventure and love of the ocean led her and Bobby to move to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 1997. They lived there for eleven years. They attended Myrtle Beach Church of Christ, where they made many dear, lifelong friends. Linda was a devout Christian and long-time member of Middletown Church of Christ. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith as well as her warmth and cheery disposition. Although she approached life with enthusiasm and boldness, even trying out bungee jumping and skydiving, her greatest joy arose from the simple pleasures of spending time with family and friends.

Linda is survived by her husband, Bobby McCoy; two daughters, Melissa (Mike) Glover and Tracey (Eddie) Vest; two step-children, Robby (Rachel) McCoy and Christie McCoy; four grandchildren, Tiffany (Michael) Fordyce, Dustin (Sarah) Crain, Felicia (Seth) Johnson, and Amanda Crain; six grandchildren, Mina Huang, Micah and Emilynn Crain, Liam Fordyce, and Hailey and Kensli Johnson; one brother, Bill (Paul Leppla) Sharp; two sisters, Wilma (Don) Chadwell and Bonnie (Dave) Krause; mother-in-law Hazel McCoy; seven step grandchildren, Dylan, Zach, Jacob, Patrick, Malosa, Ariana, and Daniela McCoy; ten brothers- and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews, and countless friends. Linda is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be Friday July 28, 2017 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, Ohio 45014. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with David Stidham officiating Burial will follow at Hickory Flats Cemetery.
