Norma (Loheide) Brockman

BROCKMAN, Norma Lee (Loheide)

Age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 9, 2017.  She was born May 27, 1926 in Hamilton, Ohio to Fred Loheide and Nettie (Phipps) Loheide and attended Hamilton High School.  She met Raymond Brockman while he was in the service during WWII and she was in high school, and they married on January 31, 1948 in Hamilton.  She worked at Champion Paper and Beckett Paper Co. and was a member of West Side Church of Christ, the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution and the USS Hornet Association.  She was an avid animal lover, loved playing bingo, and enjoyed annual trips with her husband and children to the USS Hornet reunions around the country.  She was a very special mother and will be greatly missed by her children, other relatives and friends. 

She is survived by her children: Michael (Peggy) Brockman of Hamilton and Karen (Gerald) Auclair of Fort Lauderdale, FL.  She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Raymond; and three sisters, Wilda Johnson, Doris Getz and Betty Hacker; and her beloved Chow, Smokey.  Norma’s family extends a very special thank you to the staff at Golden Years Nursing Center and Tridia Hospice for their dedicated care in her final days. 

Visitation will be 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. with Order of Eastern Star services beginning at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 13 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Road, Fairfield.  Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 14th  at the funeral home with Frank Smith officiating.  Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park in Hamilton.  In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to the U.S.S. Hornet Association (www.usshornetassn.com) in memory of the Brockman family.
