James Mumma Obituary

With great sorrow we regret to announce that James A. Mumma passed peacefully on March 20, 2024 at Trutstwell Living at Fairfield Place in Fairfield, Ohio.  Jim was born in Springfield, Ohio on July 2, 1961 to Willard H. Mumma and Judith A. Warner Mumma.  He attended Greenon High School (Class of 1979), University of Cincinnati and Sinclair University.  From a young age, he was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals and Ohio State Buckeyes.  He thoroughly enjoyed watching the games with his Dad.  Jim spent the majority of his career in Quality Control at Norwood Medical in Dayton, Ohio.  During his 28 years of service, he considered many there as members of his extended family.  He resided in Huber Heights, Ohio until 3 years ago when Alzheimer’s no longer permitted.  He eventually succumbed to respiratory complications and passed at the young age of 62.  He was preceded in death by his father (and best friend) in 2017.  He is survived by his mother Judith A. Bassi of California, his sister MaraLee Terrian (Tom), his stepsister Julie Geiger Beltrani (Michael) and three nieces, Haley Isley (Chastin), Allison and Emily Beltrani, and two great nephews, Owen and Luke Isley.  The family would like to thank Trustwell Living, Alois Alzheimer’s Center and Compassus Hospice Care for providing exceptional care and support.  The family would also like to thank those people who stood by him and visited him during this debilitating illness and offered him grace as the disease stole parts of him that we knew and loved the best.  We hope it is the kind, loving, loyal and goofy guy who is held in everyone’s cherished memories.
A Memorial Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at a later date.
