Dorothy, age 89,of Centerville peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at her daughter’s home with loving care assisted by J&K In-Home Care and Hospice of Dayton. 

She was born December 2, 1927 in Hamilton to the late George and Ruth Lighter. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Keith L. Wooley, in 2011 and their daughter Karen (Wooley) Runnels in 2013.  She was a gifted pianist who taught in Monroe, Enon and Sardinia, Ohio for many years.  Dorothy was a vital part of her husband’s 50-year ministry at several Churches of Christ in Ohio, Iowa and Kentucky. 

She is survived by her daughter Sherry (Wooley) Geiger of Centerville, OH; son-in-law Charles Runnels of Fairfield, OH; grandchildren Chris Runnels of Liberty Township, OH; Rachael Geiger of Ashville, NC; Betsy (Ravi) Pandian of Havertown, PA; Sarah (Peter) Hewitt of Powell, OH; five great-grandchildren; one remaining sister, Juanita Shearer of Jacksonville, FL; and many other loving family members and friends. 

The family will receive friends at Avance Funeral Home and Crematory in Fairfield, OH, Saturday, July 15th, from 4:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. with the funeral following at 5:00p.m.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of Dayton.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.avancefuneralhome.com
