Elizabeth "Betty" (Cupp) Powell

Powell, Elizabeth (Betty) Age 84 of Hamilton, passed away at Miami Valley Hospital, Sunday March 3, 2019. Betty was born on February 7, 1935 to Robert and Vica Cupp. She was joined in marriage to James A. Powell on April 16, 1955.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 64 years and her devoted daughters, Lee Ann Smith (husband Phil), Tracy Lynn Powell, and Brenda Lee Young (husband John); 6 grandchildren, Kent (wife Sarah), Zachary, Hayley, Jessica, Jake, And Josh; and 2 great grandchildren, Phillipa and Georgia. She is preceded in death by granddaughter Kendra.

Betty was a very humble and gentle woman who never knew a stranger. She was an artist, and avid athlete, Golf being her favorite sport, and a perfectionist at multiple needlework and crafts. She enjoyed the opportunity to accompany her husband on many business trips to several countries throughout the world. She was active for many years at the First Baptist Church serving as a Deaconess and working with children. Betty enjoyed her career working for the New Miami School Library system for over 25 years until her retirement.

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church, Hamilton, Ohio Friday, March 8, 2019 from 3-5 p.m. Memorial service will begin at 5 p.m. with Dr. Dan Clemens officiating. In lieu of Flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Aaron Osterbrock, Malaysia Missionary care of First Baptist Church Hamilton, Ohio
