Gilbert "Gil" Harris Smith

SMITH

Gilbert Harris, age 83, of Hamilton passed away on May 27, 2017 at Doverwood Village in Fairfield Twp. He was born on February 18, 1934 in Cincinnati to Walter and Delia Smith. On May 21, 1955 he was united in marriage to his wife Bernice M. (Ose), she preceded him in death on April 16, 2005.

Gilbert is survived by his three sons, Terrence G. (Tammy) of Portsmouth, OH, Lawrence R. (Karolyn) Smith of Fairfield, OH, and Gerald F. (Sharlo) Smith of Augusta, GA; ten grandchildren; great grandchildren; and his brother, Robert (Beulah) Smith of Silverton, OH. He is also survived by his brother in law, Gerald (Marilyn) Ose of Orlando, FL; dear friend, Rita Mead; and many nieces, nephews, and longtime friends.

Gil served his country in the United States Navy and was a land surveyor for over 40 years and owned his own company, G.H. Smith Land Surveyors.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Southwest Ohio.

Visitation will be Monday June 5, 2017 from 11 a.m.- 12 p.m. at the Norman Chapel at Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum, 4521 Spring Grove Ave., Cincinnati, 45232. Funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. at the chapel.
