Mary Lena Campbell Fugate Birch Jackson, age 88, of Hamilton passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017, at 4:00 PM.  She was born in Dunraven (Hazard), Kentucky on May 16, 1929, the daughter of Mack Campbell and Abbie (Spencer) Campbell.  She was a domestic engineer who loved and raised 11 children.  She enjoyed craft work and crocheting to earn money and provide gifts for those she loved.  She was baptized in a Southern Baptist church and married to George Jackson on March 1, 1969. 
She is survived by three children, Carolyn (Darcy) Dennin, Peggy Vanessa Bellamy, and Harold A. Birch; six step-children, George Michael (Sheri) Jackson, Donna Jo (Charlie) Stidham, James Gillis (Melody) Jackson, Rex Douglas Jackson, Julie Ann (Burton) Sturgill, and Tammy Rose Jackson; ten grandchildren, Amy (Mike) Sams, Jason Fugute, Angie (Mark) Smith, Larry Wayne Birch, Dustin Birch, Anthony (Misty) Birch, Angela “Nikki” (Mike) Lucus, Christina (Brad) Dennin-Mapes, Regina (James) Simmons, Harold Birch, Jr.;  ten step-grandchildren, George (Terri) Jackson, Jr., Teraca (Neal) Scott, Denise (Craig) Tullier, Kelly Gordon, Mary Anne Harris, Aaron (Alicia) Jackson, Delanie Young, Larry Wayne Sturgill, Danielle Winkler, and Christopher (Tiffany) Winkler; seventeen great-grandchildren, Felicia Landacre, Timmy Woods, Briann Woods, Travis Birch, Tyler Birch, Zachary Birch, Alexis Commer, Chelsea Birch, Jordan Birch, Darcy Reagan Mapes, Brittany Bellamy, Summer Bellamy, Katlin Bellamy, Chance Bellamy, Shay Gales, Cody Gales, Amber Gales;  fifteen step-great-grandchildren, Jordan Scott, Mackayla Scott, Sarah Ellis, Brian York, Dylan Tribbey, Rickie Eubanks, Zach Morgan, Kayla Rodriguez, Justin French, Brandon French, Aleena French, Ava Jackson, Adalynn Jackson, Chandler Winkler, Preston Winkler ;  five great-great-grandchildren, Jayden Gales, Bryson Gales, Braydon Gales, Kaden Gales, and Mason Gales; and four great-great step-grandchildren, Alana Ellis, Charlie Rodriguez, Kyra Rodiguez, and Reyna Rodiguez; one sister, Frances Eversole; a special nephew, Doyle Campbell; special neighbors, Laura & Carl Broughton; numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends, who all loved her dearly.  She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three sons, Billie Ray Fugate, Eddie Fugate and Larry Birch; a granddaughter, Michelle Birch and grandson, Timothy Bellamy; a great granddaughter, Carolyne Mapes and great grandson, Tyler Gales; step-granddaughters, Dawanna York and Bre-Ann Jackson; and six brothers, Grover Campbell, Arvel Campbell, Arze Campbell, Virgil Campbell, Donald Eugene Campbell and one name is not known; and four sisters, Lucy Spicer, Eliza Jane Shuler, Lula DeBoard, and Ellavene Coldwell.  
A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church of Hamilton, 1501 Pyramid Hill Blvd on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at 5:30 PM.  Memorial contributions may be offered to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
