Eicher, Robert L. “Bob”
Robert (Bob) Eicher, 95, of Fairfield, OH, died June 7, 2018 He was born Sept. 24, 1922, in Hamilton, OH, to Esther and Chester Eicher.
Bob graduated from Ross High School, where he lettered in five sports and was active in FFA. He married his high school sweetheart, Betty Jean Schotte, August 31, 1943, while in the Navy. Proud recipient of five Battle Stars, Bob served in the South Pacific Theater during WWII. On his return, he pursued his love of sports through golf, bowling and softball with church and community leagues.
Bob retired from Monsanto Mound Laboratories, where he was involved in several interesting projects including the New Horizons NASA space missile to Pluto. He and Betty were heavily involved with First Baptist Church of Hamilton, volunteer work throughout their community, and enjoyed extensive travel and cruising.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his aunt Ruth Sheering, wife Betty, and daughter Linda Dunn. He is survived by his daughter Nancy (Luke) Hibbard, four grandchildren; Nicole Dunn (Chris), Erica Dunn (Phil), Christy (Steve) Martin, Jon LeRoy, and ten great grandchildren, whom he dearly loved.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with Jack Young officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
