Sam was a wonderful person and neighbor. Both Joe and I have many fond memories. One memory I have is when shortly after moving into our house I was sweeping the driveway and my broom head kept falling off from its handle. Well I screwed it back on a couple of times and all of a sudden I looked up and Sam was standing there. He saw my faulty broom from his house and immediately came over to fix it. I told him that it was fine but he said "If I can fix it for you why wouldn't I ?" He took it back home and drilled a new hole and screwed the two pieces back together. That small deed was witness to the kind of person Sam was. He was always ready to help anyone in any way he could. He made the world a better place. The love and devotion we have witnessed in Sam's family stands as a testament to him
I'm sorry we will be out of town for the memorial but Sam and his family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
