Stanley “Stan” M.D., age 88, of Fairfield passed away on May 28, 2018. He was born on February 24, 1930 in the Bronx, New York to the late William and Rose Goodman. On June 30, 1957 he married Myrna Sheinberg, she survives him. Stan is also survived by his children, Farrell (Nadine) Goodman, Blayne Goodman, Devin (Gale) Goodman, and Danica White; grandchildren, Hannah, Maddy, Beau, Josh, and Kayla Goodman, and Anneliese White; also survived by other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Renee’.

Stan served his country in the United State Army Medical Corps as a Captain from 1958-1960 at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. He was the first full time physician in Fairfield practicing for 50 years; founded Pediatrics Associates of Fairfield and retired from that practice after 39 years of service to the community.

Stan was a volunteer, providing sports physicals for Fairfield Schools for 46 years. He was the physician in attendance at Fairfield Varsity Football home games; physicals for work permit for the Fairfield Alternative School; was active with the Fairfield Tempo Club; gave safety talks at the Fairfield Justice Center, Kids Safety Fair; and volunteered calling Bingo at the Fairfield Pavilion for 8 years.

He served on many boards; the Fairfield Board of Education for 20 years; the Mercy Hospital Fairfield Community Advisory Board; the Butler County American Heart Association Board; Butler County Children’s Services Board for 7 years; Red Cross Board; Fairfield Parks Board; member of the Butler Tech Licensed Practical Nurses committee; and President of the Butler County Rehabilitation Committee. Stan was a member of the Rotary Club for 40 years with perfect attendance for 30 years.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield 45014. Funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rabbi Bruce Adler officiating.
