BILLINGSLEY, John W.

Billingsley, John W. Billingsley, Born in New Lexington, OH on 3/21/1934. Passed away on December 18, 2022, in the presence of his loving wife and sons. Graduated from St. Mary High School in Columbus, Ohio, 1951. Joined the United States Marine Corps on July 22, 1952, and was Honorably Discharged on August 5, 1955, having served in Korea. Married his high school sweetheart, Margaret (Margie) Ivanoff, October 13, 1956. John was employed by The International Paper Company before starting his own entrepreneurial venture, Billingsley Box Company, from 1969 to 1993, providing a comfortable life for his wife and four children. Predeceased by parents and two sons; John Michael in 1959 and John Robert in 2016. Survived by wife of 66 years, daughter Anne Marie Hawley (Robert), sons Stephen D (Cynthia Renee) and Mark R., four grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives in Columbus, Ohio. John was an avid bridge player, fisherman, and gardener. Many of his friends have preceded him in death, and we take comfort that they have saved him a seat at the table.

Visitation at Avance Funeral Home, 4976 Winton Road, Fairfield, OH, 45014, Thursday, December 29, from 5pm to 7pm with prayer service following visitation. Family burial Friday, December 30 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Glendale, OH, privately.
