Sara J. Schrand 2/23/53-9/27/16

Those who knew and loved Sara (Sally) knew her for her kindness, generosity, wisdom and strength. She was a beautiful person, inside and out, and a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, daughter, friend, colleague and mentor. For 1.5 years, Sara battled aggressive stage IV ovarian cancer with incredible strength. She faced countless treatments head-on, with a positive attitude and a smile on her face.

All are invited to celebrate Sara’s life on Friday, Oct. 7, at 1:30 p.m. at Bellarmine Chapel at Xavier University in Cincinnati, followed by a reception at the Cintas Center on Xavier’s campus.

Interment will be Saturday, Oct. 8, at 2:30 p.m. at Arlington Memorial Gardens (2145 Compton Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45231).

Sara was so impressed by the kindness and compassion she received from the nurses and doctors at the Obstetrics and Gynecology division of The Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center. Under the care of Dr. David O'Malley, she participated in two clinical trials, and received her final treatments. We are deeply thankful to the Wexner Medical Center's team for providing Sara with such quality care and comfort, and for helping give us all a little more time with her.
