Alan R. Flegal

Age 52 of Hamilton, passed away suddenly Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. He was born February 12, 1954 in Hamilton, the son of Robert and Ellen (Nethers) Flegal. On June 25, 1976 he married Linda Luechauer also in Hamilton. Alan was a graduate of Taft High School and later attained his Associate's Degree from Miami University. Upon graduation, he began his 32 year career in the Banking Industry, where he was successful in business and his relationships with customers and co-workers. His frugal nature and his caring personality will always be missed by those who knew him. Alan loved sports. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling and playing volleyball with his friends. He played softball for The Presbyterian Church and also coached their women's softball team for many years. However, his most precious moments will be remembered with his family and friends. He loved playing cards, Sunday breakfast with friends and family, spending time with his nieces and nephews, and playing with the family dogs.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Flegal; beloved mother, Ellen Flegal; sister Ann Laird; parents and brothers and sisters through marriage; Walter and Bernice Luechauer, Gary and Diane Luechauer, Debbie and Bill Miller, Sandy and Doug Stitzel, Donna and Mark Szuch and his favorite nieces and nephews; Jennifer, Eric and Katie Luechauer, Kari and Amanda Miller and Nicholas, Alex, and Sydney Szuch.

Alan was preceded in death by his father, Robert Flegal.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with Dr. John H. Lewis officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Due to family allergies with flowers, it is requested and appreciated that memorial donations be sent to the Hamilton SPCA, 5225 Trenton Road Trenton, OH 45067., to St. Ann Catholic School, Pleasant and Clinton Avenues, Hamilton, OH 45015 or to The United Way.
