Alice Leola Garrett

Age 85 of Fairfield passed away November 29, 2007 at her residence. She was born September 2, 1922 in Wills Point, TX, the daughter of

William Mack and Bessie (Allen) Clemmons. In 1963 she married William R. Garrett in Mexico. Alice enjoyed life. She loved to cook and bake for others, garden, quilt, dance and tell jokes. However, nothing was more rewarding to her than spending time with her precious grandchildren. Family was her life and they will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her sons, Randy (Sandra) Clay, Roger (Debra) Clay and Gary Clay, who was also her caregiver throughout the recent years; grandchildren, Lara, Alison, Hannah, Misty (Eric), Taylor, Bill (Crystal) and Brett (Doreen); and great-grandchildren, Makayla, Dylan, Cameron, Matthew, Zachary, Whitney and Courtney. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Arthur David Clay in May of 1995; grandson, Roger Joshua Clay in July of 1998; and 7 siblings.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. - until time of service (6 p.m.), Sunday, December 2, 2007 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield. Burial will be Monday, December 3 at New Haven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's or any hospital affiliated with children.
