Alice E. Planck

Age 96 of Royal Dunes Blvd., Ormond Beach, FL, passed away at Bridgeview Center on Sunday, July 4, 2010. Alice was born at Indian Fields, KY on August 21, 1913, the oldest of seven daughters born to Stella and Chester D. Everman. She graduated from Clark County High School in Winchester, KY and moved to Ohio in 1945 where she was employed as a supervisor of the sorting line at Champion Papers, retiring on June 1, 1971. Alice was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairfield, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years prior to moving to Florida in 2003 to live with her daughter. While in Florida, she attended Riverbend Community Church.

She was a devout Christian and an avid reader who had read the Bible through approximately 35 times. In her younger years, she was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed fishing, working jigsaw puzzles and volunteering at the New Life Baptist Mission and helped delivering Meals on Wheels.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; sisters, Della Wade, Viola Johnson, Edith Turley, Nancy Everman (at birth); and great-grandson, David Ricketts.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Dolores Casey and husband Don; sisters, Lorene Hanshaw and Louise Peel (Porter) both of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Belinda Ricketts (Steve), Bonita Brown and Brian Casey; five great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 12 Noon - until time of service (1:30 p.m.), Tuesday, July 13th at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with Brother Tim White officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Also, a reception will follow at First Baptist Church of Fairfield, 1972 Hicks Blvd., Fairfield, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "The R.O.C.K." (Reaching Out to Further Christ's Kingdom) in c/o First Baptist Church of Fairfield.
