Listen to Obituary

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Amy Kathryn Schwartz (Lacefield). She entered eternal rest on October 6th, 2026 at age 58 in Hamilton, OH, surrounded by family and friends.

Amy was born on July 11th, 1968 in Athens, OH to parents Jesse and Elaine Lacefield. She was joined two years later by her beloved sister, Leigh. As a child, Amy moved all across the United States with her family for her father’s work. Attending many different schools throughout her formative years, she developed a love of travel and making friends in every place she went. Amy attended Forest Park High School and graduated in the class of 1986. While in school, she met many of her lifelong friends, along with her husband of 31 years, Bill.

Amy attended Miami University after high school and completed her Bachelor’s degree in International Studies. Inspired by her love of travel, she spent a semester traveling abroad throughout Europe and exploring various countries and cultures. Following her graduation, she began working at Macy’s as a store manager and stayed at the company for 13 years. She loved her time assisting customers across various locations.

Amy was a devoted mother of three boys, who she loved unconditionally; Ben (1996), Collin (2001) & Jake (2008). Nothing brought her more joy than time spent with her boys and husband. You could frequently find Amy on the sidelines of her sons’ and nephews’ sporting events, playing in the backyard with her grandson, Paxton, or cuddled up with her cats and dogs watching the newest movie or show. Loved ones describe Amy as a fearless, loving, loyal and devoted woman, who had your back no matter what you faced. She deeply loved children and animals and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need.

Amy fought a long and courageous battle with breast cancer for 2 and a half years, never once wavering or complaining. No matter the circumstances, she faced each day with a positive attitude and beautiful smile on her face.

She is survived by her father and mother, Jesse and Elaine (Kidwell); Sister, Leigh (Anthony); Husband, Bill; Sons, Ben (Bailey), Collin & Jake; Grandson Paxton; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
