Andrew Dungan

Age 87 of Hamilton passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the Ft. Hamilton Hospital. He was born March 23, 1921 in Harrison Co., KY, the son of Larie and Margaret (Moses) Dungan. Andy graduated from Hamilton High School in 1939 and was a WWII Veteran, serving in the US Army from 1942 to 1946 in the South Pacific. He was an avid sports enthusiast, playing baseball and most recently bowling in Senior Citizens Leagues at Linden and Fairfield Lanes. Andy worked at Ford Motor Company for 42 years as a Machinist until his retirement. He was a member of the Ford U.A.W. and the First Baptist Church of Hamilton.

In 1942 he married Marjorie Bacon, who later preceded him in death in 1986. On October 22, 1988 Andy married Alice (Tipton) Cain. Andy is survived by his wife Alice Dungan; son, Ronald (Karen); grandson, Todd (Kimberly); great-grandchildren, Alex and Cassie; step-son, Steve (Linda) Cain; step-grandchildren, Andy, Sara and Emily Cain; and numerous nieces and nephews. Andy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie Dungan; brother, Desha (Dot); sisters, Lucille (Lou) Downie and Pat (Paul) Allen.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. - until time of service (11:30 a.m.), Monday, January 5, 2009 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with Dr. Dennis Metzger and Rev. William C. Brantingham officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hamilton (Youth Group), 1501 Pyramid Hill, Hamilton, OH 45013.
