Arlene (Prather) Welland

Arlene (Prather) Welland of Fairfield, Ohio passed away on July 25, 2022 at the age of 93.  She was born on July 4, 1929 to Evan and Nellie (King) Prather.  She was the loving and caring wife of William F Welland (deceased) and mother of Cheri Welland (deceased).  She is survived by her son Dr. James Welland (Faith) of West Chester, Ohio and five grandchildren: Valerie Sellman (Chris) of Hamilton, OH; Ryan Combes (Nicole) of Bulverde, Texas; Nicholas Welland of Salt Lake City, Utah; Brittany Doran (Chris) of Puyallup, Washington and Katherine Baksh (Ryan) of Munster, Indiana.  There are seven great grandchildren:  Cade Sellman, Scarlett Doran, Jacob Doran, Logan Baksh, Nolan Combes, Abby Combes and Melody Edwards-Combes.  She also leaves behind two sisters, Barbara Jarvis of Hubbard, Ohio and Henrietta Swellam of Tampa, Florida and one brother, Lee Prather of Murrieta, California. She had many nieces and nephews.  Arlene was a great hostess and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was very creative both in the kitchen and with projects such as refinishing furniture and crocheting gifts. She enjoyed music and was an accomplished accordion player. She was also an avid bowler, which is how she met several of her best friends. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, August 13 at Avance Funeral Home in Fairfield. Visitation starts at 10 AM and the memorial service will be at 11 A.M.
