HUFFSTUTLER, Arnold Nelson, SGM (USA, Ret.)
Age 77 of Fairfield, passed away January 2, 2016 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Hospital. He was born May 17, 1938 in Appalachia, VA, the son of Homer and Ruth (Light) Huffstutler. On January 25, 1964 Arnold married Joyce Hubbard in Dryden, VA. He served his country proudly in the US Army during the Vietnam War and thereafter, retiring with a rank of Sergeant Major with many accolades. Arnold was a 4 th degree Black Belt in TaeKwon-Do, founding the Hamilton-Fairfield TaeKwon-Do Center in 1983, to which his family still carries his philosophy of Duty, Honor, Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance and Respect. His favorite hobby was the art of woodworking, where he won national awards for his workmanship. Mr. Huffstutler will be sadly missed by his family, his country and community. He was a member of the Lindenwald Baptist Church.
He leaves behind his loving family: wife, Joyce Huffstutler; son, Master David Huffstutler; daughter, Suzanne (Steve) Mailhot; grandchildren, Stephanie and Jack; and siblings, Larry (Linda) Huffstutler, Grace (Carl) Thompson, and Lewis (Sherry) Huffstutler. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be 6p.m. – until time of service (8 p.m.), Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with Pastor Tyler Green officiating. Burial will be in Virginia at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local DAV (Disabled American Veterans) and/or The Fisher House.
