Barbara Hopkins

Barbara, age 81, of Cincinnati passed away on April 8, 2013 at her home. She was born on February 8, 1932 to Henry and Thelma Hopkins, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her siblings June (Bob) Gillespie, Gail (Wayne) Keiser, Mark (Jennifer) Hopkins and Tara (Jack) Garretson all of whom will miss her love. Her nine nieces and nephews were her "children" and she loved and was loved by all of them.
Barbara graduated from Hamilton High School in 1950 and from the Christ Hospital Nursing School as an R.N. in 1953. She worked as a nurse for over 40 years, the majority of which was at the Christ Hospital. She will be sorely missed by her family, her friends and former co-workers, and by her beloved cats.
Private funeral services will be at the Avance Funeral Home in Fairfield at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Hamilton County SPCA at 3949 Colerain Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45223-2518. Condolences may be given at www.avancefuneralhome.com
