Benedict Louis Suttmiller
January 27, 1925 — April 23, 2007
Age 82 of Fairfield, passed away Monday, April 23, 2007 at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield. He was born January 27, 1925 in Batesville, IN, the son of Frank and Leona (Staubach) Suttmiller. On October 23, 1946 he married Edna Riehle in Sunman, IN. Benedict worked for General Motors until his retirement in 1982 and was a member of the VFW #1069 in Fairfield.
He is survived by his sons, Benedict F. (Shirley) Suttmiller, Frank E. (Sue) Suttmiller, and Dale R. (Pat) Suttmiller; daughters, Neoma (Joseph) Mastruzzo, Theresa (Joseph) Poff, Bernice (David) Laycock and Agnes Dane; brothers, Joe Suttmiller and Dennis Suttmiller; sister, Maryanne Metz; 19 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Benedict was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and son-in-law, Robert J. Dane.
Prayers will be offered at 9:15 a.m., at Avance Funeral Home followed by Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., Thursday, April 26, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 400 Nilles Rd., Fairfield with Father Larry Tharp, Celebrant. Entombment will follow at St. Stephen's Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, (Today) at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield.
