Age 90 of Hamilton, passed away 9/11/08. She was born May 11, 1918 to Oliver and Mary Jane Daggy in Hamilton, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Joseph; husband Neil Stitsinger; and second husband Paul Reidinger. Betty graduated from Hamilton High in 1936. She worked numerous years helping her parents in the photography business, and later retouched thousands of negatives of photographs for Tobias Studios in Middletown and Hoxie Studio in Oxford. She also spent countless hours working at the gift shop in the Fort Hamilton Hospital, and also spent many hours donating her time to the Order of Eastern Star. When Neil retired from Mosler Safe, she went to work for the Ohio Casualty, retiring after 15 years. Her greatest assets were her perserverance, love for her family, and a positive attitude that affected all she met.
She leaves behind her sons, Jack (Debbie) living in Florida and Denny (Kathy) of Middletown. Betty greatly appreciated her second husband's loving family, Paul and John (Mary) Redinger, Karen (Fred) Carson, who treated her like royalty. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Ryan (Molly) Stitsinger, Jill (Joel) Phillips, Craig (Kara) Stitsinger, and Michael Stitsinger, along with step-granddaughter Chrissy of FL. Betty was a great-grandmother to Reiley, Ella, and Gavin Phillips of Germantown, and Jake Stitsinger from Akron. She was also great-grandmother to her second husband's great-grandchildren, M.J. and Sonny. She dearly loved her best friends Colleen Schuster and Lelia Kinner in Hamilton. Betty will be sorely missed by all her friends at St. John's Church and Berkeley Square. She also appreciated the kindness of her nephew, Dr. Glenn Stitsinger. A truly benevolent and loving relative and friend to many, she will be laid to rest between her two cherished husbands. The family wishes to extend very special thanks to her family doctor, Kenny Wehr. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association. There will be no visitation or funeral services at her request. The Avance Funeral Home & Crematory of Fairfield is serving the family. The family will accept condolences at www.avancefuneralhome.com.
