Billy Michael McWhorter

Billy Michael "Bill" McWhorter, 67, passed away peacefully at home on January 24, 2026. He was born on August 19, 1958 in Manchester, KY to Granville and Mallie (Davidson) McWhorter and lived a life that was full of love for the people closest to him.

Bill spent most of his life working with his hands as an auto mechanic and painter. He took pride in his work, especially painting Harley Davidson motorcycles. He made the best out of the choices he made, meeting life with determination and doing what he could with what he had.

Above all else, Bill loved his girls. His daughters were the center of his world and becoming a grandfather brought him a joy that was easy to see and deeply felt. He was rarely without a dog by his side and was known for making the best BBQ cheeseburgers on the grill.

Bill will be remembered for his love, his grit, his hard-working hands, and the life he shared with the family who loved him. He will be missed deeply and indefinitely.

Bill is survived by his mother Mallie (Fred) Davidson McWhorter Hensley; his sister Brenda Ponder Hodges and brother Jeff (Lisa) McWhorter; his longtime friend and mother of his daughters Sandy TerHaar; his daughters Hannah (Ryan) Tedford and Sarah TerHaar; his son Josh McWhorter; his granddaughters Brianna and Ashlynn McWhorter; his grandsons Evan McWhorter and Ollie Tedford; numerous nieces and nephews and his dog Sofia. He was preceded in death by his father Granville "Bub" McWhorter; his sister JoAnn McWhorter and his dogs Daisy and Buster.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Cincinnati for the compassion, care, and kindness shown to Bill in his final days. Their support meant more than words can express. Services are private at the convenience of the family.
