Billy Ray Parsons, 83, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully at his winter home in Vero Beach FL on Thursday, March 15. Bill served in the Navy for 4 years during the Korean War and then worked for Pennsylvania Railroad, from which he retired and was an avid golfer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, RC & Ida Parsons, 5 brothers, 4 sisters, and 1 grandchild. He is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Mary Lou Parsons, 4 children - Harold David Parsons, Rick Parsons, Cyndi (Eric) Griffin, and Christy (Mark) Hansen, 8 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:45 pm and his service will follow at 5 p.m. on Saturday March 24 at Fairfield First Baptist Church, 1072 Hicks Blvd., Fairfield OH 45014 with Pastor Tim White officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to either: The Gideons or VNA Home Hospice of Vero Beach FL.
