Blanche Ruth (Schreiber) Walker

Blanche Ruth Schreiber Walker March 1, 1930 - November 22, 2024

Blanche was born on March 1, 1930 in Brookville, Indiana to Fred R. and Barbara B. Schreiber, both residents of heaven.  Blanche graduated to heaven on November 22, 2024. She was married to Max G. Walker from Hillsboro, Ohio for 64 years. She bore two precious children-Brent Gossett Walker, Southlake, Texas (Leslie); Cinda Jean Whitaker, Springfield, Ohio (Jon); three grandsons - Cary Gossett, Castle Pines, Colorado (Magdalena); Mark Edson, Frisco, Texas (Courtney) and Robert Christopher, North Richland Hills, Texas.  She has four precious great-grandchildren-Maya, Jackson, Avery and Brady. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Charlotte Smith, Betty Morgan, Dorothy Schreiber, Doris Odor and one brother, Gilbert Schreiber.  She is survived by one sister, Jeannie Souders, Franklin, Indiana and one brother, Freddie Schreiber, Sun City Center, Florida. She was married to Max in 1952 while he served in the USAF and for two- and one-half years she followed him to Texas, Colorado and back to Texas before he was discharged.  They resided in Fairfield, Ohio for 44 years prior to retiring to The Christian Village at Mason in 1995. Blanche was a 1951 graduate of Christ Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio and worked both as a surgical and pediatric nurse prior to stopping to raise her children.  Later she returned to the public school system, working with special needs children for ten years. Her home was her castle and she loved to entertain family especially at the holidays.  She enjoyed traveling the globe, visiting many European countries as well as Australia and New Zealand.  She and Max belonged to the Volks Marching organization and would drive long distances to walk 6.2 miles.  She was also a member of the local Red Hat Society, traveling to many location for conventions and fellowship with other Red Hatters. Her Celebration of Life will be held on November 30, 2024, in the Stone Center at The Christian Village at Mason. Visitation will be from 9:30am until the service begins at 11:00 am.  Officiating will be Brian Schreiber. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be sent to the Christian Benevolence Association, Compassionate Care Fund.
