Carl Baker

Age 72 of Fairfield passed away Saturday afternoon, February 3, 2007 at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield after a brief illness. He was born on December 27, 1934 in Jack's Creek, KY, the son of Jeff Morris and Sally Ann (Hoskins) Baker. In 1960, he married Jeweldene Barger at the 1st Church of God in Hamilton, OH. Carl was a member of Washington Lodge, No. 17 F. & A.M. and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Cincinnati Chapter. Other memberships included the National Rifle Association and Kentucky Colonels.

Carl is survived by his wife Jewel Baker of Fairfield; daughter, Connie Sue McGlothen of Stanton, KY; granddaughter and the love of his life, Macie Jewel McGlothen; 2 sisters, Lona (James) Hensley of Richmond, IN and Pearl (Matt) Crawford of Oxford, OH; special and dear nephew, Jeffrey Lynn Crawford of Oxford, OH; special sister-in-law, Shirley Barger of Hamilton; several nieces, nephews and friends who were richly blessed by his life. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ford Baker; sisters, Cleo Sizemore, Lena Baker, and Rhoda Sizemore.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield. Interment will follow at Oxford Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home with Masonic Services beginning at 7:30 p.m., followed by Scottish Rite Ring Ceremony. Carl Baker was truly devoted to his family. All he ever wanted out of life was to help raise his granddaughter, Macie Jewel. We have lost our best friend and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
