Carl, age 78 of Fairfield passed away on March 26, 2013 at Bethesda North Hospital. He was born in Cincinnati on September 26, 1934 to Earl and Nellie Compton. Carl is the beloved husband of Kathleen "Kathy" (nee Henry); loving father to Patricia and her late husband Ray; Connie and her husband Richard Baker; Patrick and his wife Nicky Compton; step father to Becky and her husband Kelly Rumpler and Steven Ranz; dear grandfather of Rebekah (Troy) Ranney, Nathan Downs, Brad (Katrina) Baker, Jesse (Emily) Baker, Kurtis (Leah) Baker, Natalie (Vince) Marquis, Kayla Compton, Brady and Leaha Compton, Brook and Hannah Rumpler; great grandfather to Emma, Adaline, Bradley, Bethany, Graham, Jack, Henry, Grace, Zade and Lucy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings
Red Compton, Phyllis Herzog, Shirley (Bob) Schwitzer, and Ginny (Arlie) Jent.
A memorial service will be held on March 30, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Cincinnati Christian Academy Chapel, 7474 Morris Rd., Hamilton, Ohio 45011. Interment at Dayton National Cemetery with full military honors at a later date.
