Carl A. Smith

SMITH, Carl A., age 73 of Fairfield Township passed away Friday, April 14, 2006 at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He was born March 2, 1933 in Manchester, KY, the son of Charles W. and Maggie (Helton) Smith. On March 15, 1952 he married Tennie Langdon, also in Manchester, KY. Carl worked for General Motors at the Fisher Body Plant before retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Rolling Hills Baptist Church; Ben Franklin Lodge No. 719, F.&A.M.; Scottish Rite, Valley of Cincinnati Chapter; and the Shriner's.

He is survived by his wife, Tennie Smith; sons Rick (Nancy) Smith, Darryl (Michele) Smith, and Tim Smith; grandchildren, Stephanie, Alex, Jordan, and Allison; brothers, Herman (Barbara) Smith and Herbert (Nancy) Smith; sisters, Mae (Ray) Bowling and June (C.B.) Stewart; sister-in-law, Rufena Smith. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Evelyn (Roy) Annes; and brothers, Omus and Earl Smith.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. - until time of service (1 p.m.), Thursday, April 20, 2006 at the Rolling Hills Baptist Church, 5742 Pleasant Ave., Fairfield, OH 45014 with Senior Pastor Danny Rollins officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Rolling Hills Baptist Church. Also, the family will accept condolences at www.avancefuneralhome.com.
