Carolyn A. Chaney, of Fairfield died peacefully on November 3, 2018 after a brief illness. She was born in Irving, KY to Rachel and J.C. Lockett. She began working at Sears and Roebuck in Hamilton in 1946 and retired after 35 years of employment. Carolyn lived an active life full of spirit until the end.

She is survived by one sister, Lillian Boone of North Myrtle Beach, SC; three brothers, Darrel Lockett and wife Jeanie, George Lockett and wife Judy of Pensacola, FL and Frank Lockett and wife Cheryl of Richmond, KY. Carolyn is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by husbands, Ben Chaney and Raymond Plapp along with her parents and twelve siblings.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, 45014. Officiating will be Brother Charles Anderson.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Midwestern Children’s Home. Condolences may be offered at www.avancefuneralhome.com
