Carrie Rose DeFevers

Carrie Rose (Lawhorn) DeFevers, age 90, of Hamilton, died Friday, October 30, 2026, at The Woodlands of Hamilton. She was born November 27, 1935, in Dunnville, KY to Jason W. and Gerthie Mae (Miller) Lawhorn.

She married Denver DeFevers on December 14, 1956, in Lockland. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Carrie was a member of Redeemer Church. Since 1965 she has participated in many Church organizations, serving as a Deacon, participating in Bible study, quilting group, and volunteering when needed. In addition to working in insurance and being a dedicated homemaker, Carrie devoted many hours volunteering at school with the PTA, serving as a Cub Scout leader, and the American Heart Association to name a few. She loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports, gardening, and cooking for gatherings with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Denver, her parents, and brother Riley C. Lawhorn.

She is survived by sons, Neil (Terri) DeFevers and Colin (Denise) DeFevers; grandchildren Nicole, Austin, Jason DeFevers, Nick (Amy) Faul, and Brady (Amanda) Conner; great-grandchildren Michael Denver and Katie Faul, Braelyn, Jaxon, and Donyell Conner.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 3, 2026, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd. Fairfield, OH 45014. Visitation will be on Wednesday November 4, 2026, at 10:00am until the time of funeral service (11:00am) at Redeemer Church, 3431 Hamilton Middletown Rd, Hamilton, OH 45011 with Pastor Nicole Thomas officiating.
