Cecil J. New, Sr.
January 19, 1928 — March 24, 2010
age 82, went to his eternal reward on March 24, after a short battle with cancer.
He was born in Harlan County, Ky. on January 19th, 1928. He is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Catherine L. New, also five sons, Martin (Sandy deceased),James (Vicki), Vernon, Randy (Barbara), Curt (Kathy); brothers, Billy (Vivian), Kenneth (Wanda),and sister Dorothy Cunnigan. Also survived by fourteen grand children, eleven great-grand children, many neices and newphews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sons, Cecil Jr.,Ralph and Chris. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed by Mosler Inc. for forty-one years, retiring in 1990. He was a life long member of West Side Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He spent many long hours at the two local golf courses enjoying his favorite hobby.
Visitation will be held at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, on Sunday March 28th, from 2 to 5pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM Monday, March 29th,at North Fairfield Baptist Church, 6853 Gilmore Rd., Fairfield Twp., OH with Dr. Richard Rhodus and Pastor Mark Wilson officiating.
