Charles "Charlie" W. Walker

Age 79 of Fairfield, passed away Friday, June 26, 2009 at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield. Charlie was born January 9, 1930 in Roby, TX the son of Charlie and Hazel (Langstons) Walker. On November 1, 1952 he proudly married Mary Steen in Lawrenceville, IL. Charlie valiantly served his country in the US Army Airborne during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Millville Church of God.
Charlie leaves behind his wife, Mary Walker; nephews and nieces, Charles (Bonnie) Fletcher, Joseph (Silvia) Fletcher, Mariah Fletcher, Travis Fletcher, Susan Walker, Dalton Walker, Cynthia Walker, and Kyle Walker; cousin Ann Pearl Grange; and friend, Larry Tapp.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with Pastor Steve Collins officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Dayton National Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Millville Church of God.
