Charles Edward Hensley

October 2, 1939 — May 8, 2012

Survived by: Wife of 54 years Betty Lou (Taylor) Hensley; Daughters, Marsha K. Zimmerman, Donna J. Weneck, and Sharon L. Holley; son, Daniel W. Hensley; and 11 grandchildren.

MSgt. Hensley was a wonderful, kind and caring man who always put his family before himself. He would have given the shirt off his back to a complete stranger if he felt they needed it. Ed would always have told them to pass the kindness on to someone else in need if they tried to recognize or repay him for it.

Ed proudly served his country in both the US Marine Corps and the US Air Force retiring from the Air Force as MSgt. He later worked as an instructor in a vocational high school.

He was loved by many and will be dearly missed. It was his wishes that no services or memorials be held for him. Furthermore, he hoped we would all continue on in our lives, taking advantage of the time we have been blessed, and for us all to be happy. He did not want anyone to grieve over his departure from this world, but to remember the good times and go forward with love and joy. We ask that everyone honor his wishes.

To all...we thank you for your love and support during this difficult, yet memorable time for such a good man and patriot. As a family we hope to continue his legacy.

As mentioned above, services are private at the convenience of the family. The Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, Fairfield is in charge of arrangements. The family will accept condolences at www.avancefuneralhome.com
