Christine Nelson Rolfes

On Wednesday October 29, 2019 at 2:48 p.m. Christine (Chris) Marie Nelson Rolfes, aged 62, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving husband and children. She was the center of her family’s universe and a mother to all. Chris was born on February 25, 1957 in Niagara Falls, New York to (late) William Nelson and Marian (nee Schulmeister) Nelson.

She is survived by her, husband Paul “Dave” Rolfes; brother, John “Clarke” Nelson; children, Alicia (Ben) Johnson, Zachary (Brittany) Marcum, and Emily Forrest; mother, Marian aged 96; two step-sons, Brandon and Steven Rolfes,. Chris was a devoted mother to her children and adoring grandmother to her 6 grandchildren: Wyatt, Hank, Amos, Ophelia, Landon, and Aiden.

She spent many of her formative years living in North Palm Beach, Florida with her mother and brother. During her time in Florida she worked at a local bank on the famous Palm Beach Island and spent her free time on the beach surrounded by friends. On May 5, 2004 she married the love of her life, Dave Rolfes, with whom she shared many wonderful memories. Together they built a life full of love and joy, and opened their hearts and home to every friend, neighbor, and family member. Chris spent her life doing what she loved: sewing. She was endlessly talented and could create or alter anything. She showered her family with homemade gifts including pajama pants, clothing, home décor, and Alicia’s spectacular wedding gown. She was also an incredible baker and cook. Her food and desserts were known, and devoured, by everyone who had the honor of knowing her. She had an undying love for music and demonstrated that love through playing classical music on her prized baby grand piano. She was also an avid animal lover; she cared for all creatures big or small. She rescued many cats in her life and even took care of the neighborhood scavengers, keeping them out of the neighbors’ trash. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, courage, kindness, and love for everyone and every living thing. Her grace and beauty will continue to shine on through everyone who knew and loved her.

Please join her family in celebrating her life on Monday November 4, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Avance Funeral Home 4976 Winton Rd. Fairfield, Ohio 45014.
