Clara Sue (Lickliter) Leahigh

July 10, 1942 — January 5, 2022

Clara Sue Leahigh of Hamilton passed away on January 5, 2022, from the combined impacts of cancer, heart disease, and a bad fall. She was born the daughter of Raymond “John” Lickliter and Cynthia Scott Lickliter on July 10, 1942, at Fort Hamilton Hospital. She is survived by her sister, Nella Hurst, two nephews, Deron Hurst and Kyle Hurst, a great niece, Eleanor Ostafin Hurst, a great nephew Kasper David Ostafin Hurst, and many dear neighbors and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Paul Lickliter, brother-in-law David Hurst, and nephew Ryan David Hurst.

Sue was a graduate of Garfield High class of 1960. Her work included Western States, Home Federal Savings and Loan, and First Financial Bank. She retired in 2004.

She enjoyed people! She was an outgoing, friendly, “never met a stranger” personality. She loved having fun, pranking folks, and telling jokes. You missed out if you never heard her tell the one about the Christmas tree and the elevator. Her laughter was so contagious! All would be laughing, and no one even knew why. That was Sue! She loved traveling with friends and family, especially to Nashville, Tennessee and Kiawah Island, South Carolina. Rest well dear one…

Memorial services will be held Saturday January 8 with visitation at 10:00 and memorial at 11:00 at First Baptist Church in Hamilton on Pyramid Hill Drive.
