Claude Tirey

VIRGINIA BEACH - Claude Tirey, 95 was ushered into the Lord's presence February 17, 2011. Claude was born on April 5, 1915 in Owsley County, KY. He married Mattie (Price) Tirey on December 9, 1939, who preceded him in death March 3, 1993.
He will always be remembered as a loving dad by John and Brenda Tirey of Virginia Beach, VA.; Dorothy and Art Motzer of Hamilton, OH and Paul and Pam Tirey of Energy, IL. He was affectionately known to his 10 grand-children and 15 great grand-children as "Poppie".
Claude was a Christian who lived what he believed as he touched the lives of many people with his smile and love for the Lord and his family. He was a long time member of Hamilton West Baptist Church, Hamilton, OH until his moving to Virginia where he joined London Bridge Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, VA.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. - until time of service (11 a.m.), Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with Pastor Paul E. Tirey officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
