Cyrus P. Thompson

Age 74 of Fairfield Twp., passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at Butler County Care Facility. He was born December 3, 1932 in Norwood, OH, the son of Fred and Cecile (Padgett) Thompson. On May 2, 1953 Cy married Shirley Curran in Milan, IN. Mr. Thompson was a member of: Richmond Lodge No. 196, F.&A.M.; Hamilton Council No. 19, Royal and Select Masons; Richmond Commandery No. 8; Knights of the York Cross of Honor, No. 8; King Solomon Chapter No. 4, R.A.M.; Washington Chapter No. 195, O.E.S.; High Twelve No. 414; Fraternal Order of Police No. 21; and Buckeye State Sheriff's Association. Cy was also US Army Veteran and a Volunteer for the Fairfield Twp. Fire Department for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Thompson; and sons, Bill Thompson, Tom Thompson, and Patrick Thompson. Cy was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Candace Jo Thompson; and aunt, Florence Trick.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, September 22, 2007 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with Pastor Howard Elliot officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday with Hugh L. Bates No. 686 F. & A.M. Masonic Services and Washington Chapter No. 195, O.E.S. at 6:30 p.m.. Memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice.
