Dana B. Charette of Fairfield Township, Ohio passed away after a long-extended battle with Ocular Pharyngeal Muscular Dystrophy, at his home in the arms of his loving wife Heidi E. Charette.

Dana was born in Ft. Kent, Maine and then moved to Island Falls, Maine until he joined the U.S. Army Calvary Scouts in 1983-1991. Dana was a U.S. Gulf War combat Veteran where he served his country as a Sgt.

Dana was born May 27, 1965, to Mr. Joseph Charette Jr. who survives him.  On June 5, 2020, Dana married the love of his life, his wife Heidi E. Charette who also survives him.

Dana has siblings that survive him who are: Mr. and Mrs. Melvin (Lisa) Charette of Maine, Mr. John Charette of Maine, Mr. and Mrs. Dan (Lynn) Michaud) of Maine, Mr. Joseph Charette III of Mississippi and Mr. and Mrs. Troy (Veronica) Charette of Florida

Dana also has five sons who survive him who are: Tyler Charette of Ohio, Justin Charette of Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Trey (Anna) Routt of Ohio, Logan Routt and Patrick Curtis of Ohio

Dana’s Parent-in-law ‘s who survive him are: Mr. and Mrs. Brent Kinkle of Ohio, sister in law’s Wendy Kinkle of Ohio and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas (Amanda) Newton of Ohio.

His favorite aunt’s whom he loved all so much were Mrs. Patricia Taylor of Ohio, Mrs. Anna Jeanne Boucher of Maine, and Mrs. Eva Cyr of Maine.

Dana also had many nieces and nephew’s whom he loved and enjoyed as well.

Dana enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing and riding his four-wheeler in Maine, working on his model cars as a hobby. His greatest enjoyment was traveling with his wife Heidi to various locations around the country, their favorite spot to travel annually to celebrate their birthdays and their wedding anniversary was to Mackinac Island, Michigan.

Dana’s two dogs Leo and Lucy also loved him so very much and will miss him dearly.

Dana and Heidi had a great love story, best friends and they loved each other until the very end. Dana would want people to remember him during the healthier and happy times of his life laughing it up and joking the way Dana enjoyed life. He is finally at peace down at the Fiddler’s Green with his military brothers. Here’s the last sign off Bandit, may you rest in peace until we meet again! Fly high angel, you were a loving and caring husband and father.

There won’t be a public service for Dana at this time, as he wished to be cremated.  A celebration of life, and Military Honor Service will take place at later date during a private ceremony in Maine with his close friends and family.
