OKUN, Darla Lorene, 89, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Chesterwood Village. Born in Blackey, Kentucky, on August 8, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alta (Crase) Olinger. On January 4, 1947, she married John Okun; he preceded her in death on June 5, 2011. Darla leaves behind her children, Marcia Harris and Pam (Greg) Wilkens; grandchildren, Amber Harris, Trisa Wilkens and Brent (Leslie) Wilkens; great grandchildren, Reese Arseia Wilkens and Violet Lorene Harris, brothers, Andrew and Ralph Olinger; and her sister, Barbara Asher. She was also preceded in death by brothers Noah and Ernie Olinger; sister Mary Lou Owens, and son-in-law Scott D. Harris. Visitation will be Thursday, November 14, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Avance Funeral Home, 4976 Winton Road, Fairfield, Ohio. Burial services at Rose Hill Cemetery will be private. The family wishes to thank the Dixon family, Dr. Pawel and the staff at Chesterwood Village for the loving and excellent care Darla received.
