Denny was born on September 29, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Robert and Ruth (Steidel) Rasp. He grew up in Bridgetown and graduated from Oak Hills High School in 1962.

After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1962 to 1968. He was stationed out of Norfolk, VA on the USS Albany which was the first U.S. guided missile cruiser. He was 3rd class Petty Officer-Radarman and served during the Vietnam Era and Cuban Missile Crisis.

After being discharged from the Navy, he began working for Rainbow Crafts (maker of Play-Doh) which was owned by General Mills. During that time, he received an Associate Degree in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati. After several company changes (Kenner/Tonka/Hasbro), Denny ultimately worked for Hasbro for 33+ years as an accounting manager until the Cincinnati office closed in Dec. 2000. He worked for Ice Cream Specialties, Market Day and FB Wright over the next 22 years until he retired.

During his first marriage he had 3 sons, Randy, Scott and Marc Rasp. In July 2000, he married again to the love of his life, Iris Rankin, who at one time also worked for Kenner-Tonka Toys. He became the stepdad to her three young children Danielle, Travis and Brittany.

Denny loved watching the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals. His absolute favorite hobby was being outside doing landscaping and cutting grass.

Denny is survived by his wife of 25 years, Iris Rasp; sons Randy (Kerry) Rasp, Scott Rasp and Marc (Michelle) Rasp; step-children, Danielle (Kyle) Fender, Travis Rankin and Brittany Howard; grandchildren, Olivia, Nathan, Emma and Andi Rasp and Allie Fender; siblings Ruth Mathias, Nancy McLennan, Bob (Linda) Rasp and Darlene (Mike) Gadd; as well as many nieces and nephews and his 3 furry buddies: Coco, Nestle and Truffles.
