Dennis Mcdaniel

October 30, 1926 — June 5, 2005

Dennis McDaniel, age 78 of Hamilton peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Sunday June 5, 2005. He was born in Hamilton on October 30, 1926, the son of Walter Scott and Lillie (Rose) McDaniel. Dennis was a graduate of Hamilton High School. He also served in the Merchant Marines and the US Army. Dennis married Betty May (Finley) in Hamilton, on November 25, 1950 and she later preceded him in death on July 18, 2001. Dennis was a milkman for Borden's and French Bauer dairies and was the owner of McDaniel's Upholstery. He later worked for the US Postal Service retiring in January of 1989. Dennis was also past president of the Postal Clerk's Union and a member of Lindenwald Baptist Church, Fairfield West Baptist Church and Highland Avenue Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sons, Scott (Ann) McDaniel and Rick (Melanie) McDaniel; 3 grandchildren, Alissa, Alex and Sean McDaniel; 1 step-grandchild, Mike Root; 1 step-great grandchild, Susan Cassity; 1 brother Jack (Loraine) McDaniel; sister-in-law Gladys McDaniel; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his friends, Chico, Adie, Bill and Alice.

Graveside burial services will be 11 a.m., Saturday June 11, 2005 at Rose Hill Burial Park with Pastor Dave Garrett officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Haven Road Church of God, 8985 New Haven Road, Harrison, OH 45030. Condolences may be sent at www.avancefuneralhome.com. The Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, Fairfield is serving the family.
