Age 85 of Hamilton, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 10:45 p.m. He was born July 14, 1922 in Irvine, Kentucky, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Mullins) Minton. He served in World War II as a second lieutenant in the 29th Infantry Division of the U.S Army. He fought at Omaha Beach during the Allied invasion of Normandy and also at the Battle of St.-Lo and in the Ardennes campaign. He was awarded the Silver Star, four Bronze Stars, the Presidential Unit Citation, two Croix de Guerre medals, two Purple Hearts and a personal letter of commendation from the government of France.
He married Marjorie Smith on October 8, 1947. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Minton; his son, Michael Minton, granddaughters, Jennifer Kraus and Alissa Williams; great-grandchildren, Anna Williams, Sarah Kraus and Joshua Kraus; and sister, Minnie Forsythe.
