Dolores M. Miserocchi

Mrs. Dolores "Dottie" Marie Miserocchi, age 65, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, in Mercy Hospital. She was born in Hamilton, the daughter of James and Lena Wainscott who preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Taft High School. She married Gus Miserocchi on October 9, 1965 in Hamilton.

Dottie is survived by her husband, Gus; her daughters, Gina Helms and husband, David of Fairfield; Anne Gamm and husband, Kevin of Ross Township; two grandsons, Connor and Matty Helms; two granddaughters, Kate and Nora Gamm; beloved cousin and dearest friend, Sandra Stegman; and many loving friends and family.

In late 2005, Dottie was diagnosed with UIP, a chronic lung disease. With the guidance and support of numerous physicians, including Dr. Christopher Meier and Dr. Robert Baughman, Dottie fought for 4 years to receive a double lung transplant at the Cleveland Clinic in August of 2009. She experienced many ups and downs, but continued to fight to live life to the fullest. Her joyful personality, kind heart and zest for life made her a blessing to all who knew her. Her family and especially her grandchildren were the light of her life.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Monday June 28, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 400 Nilles Rd., Fairfield, OH 45014 with Father Larry Tharp, Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Hamilton. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m., Sunday at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield.
