Donald E. Gastineau

November 3, 1936 — December 5, 2021

Donald “Don” E. Gastineau, of Fairfield, went to his Heavenly home on Dec 5, 2021, at age 85. Don is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marie. A son, Vernon (Cheryl) of Somerset, Ky, a daughter, Julie of Mt. Healthy, Oh, and his older sister, Delores (Paul) Sess of Punta Gorda, Fl. He also leaves two granddaughters, Lauren Gastineau and Marci (Shane) Chapman, two grandsons, Evan and Mason Mink, and one great-grandson, Anthony Chapman. Don served 2 years in the Army Reserves shortly after graduating from St. Bernard High School. He also had a very lengthy career with Procter & Gamble, Ivorydale Food, in the Crisco division as a machine adjustor and designer, until his retirement in 1994. In 1965, Don and Marie moved to West Chester, Oh and started to attend Tri-County Assembly of God in Fairfield and remained faithful members until moving to Fairfield Glade resorts in Crossville, TN in 1998. In TN, they attended Faith Assembly and Don was also able to pursue his #1 passion ~ Golf! In 2016, they made the move back to Ohio, and lived in Fairfield. Dons’ other passion was woodworking, and he enjoyed his workshop at home as well as volunteering at Tri-County Assembly helping to make and assemble wooden toys for the Appalachian children and doing various projects. If you met Don, you liked him. He just had that kind of personality and people could tell he was a nice, caring person with a great sense-of-humor. He will be greatly missed by his friends and especially his family.
