STITZEL
Douglas James “Doug”, born November 11, 1958 in Hamilton, OH to Jim and Vi Stitzel, passed away at age 59 on July 22, 2018 in Hamilton, surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife, Sandy (Luechauer); daughter, Kelly; grandson, Samuel; daughter-in-law, Tonia (Allen); siblings, Greg (Mary), Dan (Marie), and Andrea (Rob) Watson; many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Vi, son Mathew, grandson Oliver, and brother-in-law Alan Flegal.
Doug was a savvy businessman, having started his career at Second National Bank in Hamilton, then moving on to successful stints with Central Business Group and Hamilton Sorter. Eventually, he struck out on his own and formed Hamilton Office Systems then Hamilton Office Interiors. He created comfortable, ergonomic, practical office designs for many local companies and organizations, building lasting business relationships and friendships along the way.
Doug was an avid golfer, and a longtime member of the Elks. If he wasn’t on the golf course, you could find him chipping golf balls in the back yard, or practicing putting in his home office. Doug was a loyal fan of the Cincinnati Reds and held out hope, year after year, that his Reds would make it back to the World Series. Per Doug’s wishes, there will be no public service.
