Earnest Lee Jr. “Lee”, age 85, of Miami Lakes, FL previously of Fairfield passed away at his home February 22, 2017. He was born to the late Earnest Lee and Mary Viola (nee Hendrix) Bowen Sr.
On October 27, 1931 in Cincinnati, Lee graduated from Middletown High School, attended Purdue University, and graduated Miami University at Oxford in 1954. He had a successful business management career, rising to president at three companies including B & W Metals in Fairfield before his retirement. Lee loved all sports, playing basketball and football in high school and college, and enjoyed gardening, raising orchids, fishing and golf in later years. He was a Delta Delta Chapter Sigma Chi, member of the Rockwell Springs Trout Club, and an Acolyte and Lay Reader in the Episcopal church.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Gretchen (nee Holstein); loving children, Bonnie (Roy) Hibbard, Donald Lee Bowen, and Elizabeth Anne Bowen; granddaughter, Jamie (Jeff) Schuster; great grandchildren, Jacob, Jessie, and Julia Schuster; his brother, Thomas Roy (Sandra) Bowen and other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Saturday March 4, 2017 from 10-11 a.m. at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, OH 45014. Graveside services will follow at 11:45 a.m. at Woodside Cemetery and Arboretum, 1401 Woodside Blvd., Middletown, OH 45044.
