Edgar M.L. “Ed”, age 77, of Fairfield passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018. He was born on June 20, 1941 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Otto and Marie (nee Jurkowitz) Henkel.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Margaret (nee Jones) Henkel; devoted children, Cindy (Mark) Roe, Lisa (Johan) Bredenkamp, Eric (Amy) Hodges, Kelley (Tom) Mess, and Dawn Hodges; grandchildren, Michael Roe, Ashley Kinkaid, AJ Roe, Blayne Hodges, Cassie Vitale, and Tony Vitale; 5 great grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.

Edgar was proud to serve the City of Fairfield Ohio where he was employed for 30+ years as a wastewater treatment engineer.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 10-10:30 a.m. at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, 45014. Father Larry Tharp will perform funeral rites at 10:30 a.m. followed by memories from the family.
